First Day at the Pool!

This Memorial Day weekend, Araceli got a lot of firsts in! Her 1st patriotic, Red, White & Blue outfit. Her first opportunity to attend a crawfish boil (thanks, Riza and Eldrick--the food was awesome!). And her first swim in the pool! We are determined to make sure that she is exposed to water at a young age, so she will be comfortable with it when she is able to learn to swim at a later age.

We took her out to the pool with her little turtle floatie and her new swimsuit. It was a one-piece to make sure she wasn't driving the boys wild! She also had her sunhat on to protect her from the rays, but she still got a little reddish on her arms and face. Where is baby sunscreen when you need it? Here is a video of Celi in the big pool (no kiddie pool here!) with Mommy on Memorial Day. We were happy that Tio Bull, Tia Carmina, Clarissa, and Claudia were able to join us also.

Crawfish Boil on Memorial Day Weekend

Celi began working with a new assistive device this week. Since she always wants to sit up and look around (at everything), we decided to pull out the Bumbo to see if she would like it. She was liking it at first because she was able to sit up and look at us. She was still working on the balancing act of it, but does very well for her 10 weeks of age.

Celi got to go to her first crawfish boil on Memorial Day weekend! Thanks to the Cooper family for inviting us out to their home to share in fun, food, and fellowship! Since we were honoring all of our nation's veterans who have died while serving our country, Celi wanted to do her part by sporting the Red, White and Blue! Here are some pics of her in her outfit and trying out her new Bumbo seat!

Happy Mother's Day!

Araceli made her 1st trip to south Texas this past weekend to visit her grandmas for Mother's Day. She did great on the trip up and back (a little over a 4 hour drive)--sleeping the whole way. Once she reached her destination (even back home) though, her sleeping and feeding schedule was WAY off and she let us know it. We've never seen her that fussy where a bottle didn't calm her down. She finally calmed down after a few hours and acted more of herself once she got her sleep and bottle on her time.

We had a great time while we were down and were happy that she finally got to meet Tio Hito, Tia Mandi, Tio Tommy and her cousins--Tres, Adrian, Nadia, and Madison. Here are some pictures of Mommy and her first Mother's Day with our little angel. Also, a baby picture of Mommy when she was Celi's age. Can you see the resemblance???

She's Starting to Recognize Us!

Adri sent me an e-mail from Baby Center just yesterday. It said that 50% of babies would recognize their parents and respond with a smile when they saw them. I witnessed it today.......no, it wasn't me that she recognized. Although she's very comfortable with me and will do fine with me, she responded to Adri.

Adri came in from work and Celi was laying in her bassonet. Adri came up to her and asked, "What are you doing, sweetheart?" Celi immediately smiled at her after seeing her and you could tell she was happy to see her mom. Adri took a gasp of excitement from the moment. I don't blame her. It was pretty awesome!

Sorry about not posting more pictures. I'll try to catch up on it. Uncle Andrew has got to see Celi on his trip to Texas for the month. Little does he know, he'll be taking on some babysitting jobs here in the next couple of weekends. :o)
